Programme

You will have the opportunity to get to know Slovenia’s capital city, Ljubljana, becoming captivated by its vibrant atmosphere and sampling mouth-watering authentic Slovenian food and wine.

First meeting up in Ljubljana, the group will head for the mountains to begin a 3-day hike. Although the hike is technically not difficult, a reasonable level of fitness will be required to hike for 6-7 hours for approximately 15 km (10 miles) at an elevation gain of up to 800 metres (2,500 feet) on the hardest day.

You will be staying each night in well-equipped mountain huts and no need to bring any special gear or food. Everything is there.

Following the hikes, the sparkling waters of lakes Bohinj and Bled await you, where you can swim and relax before continuing your journey to the Valley of the Emerald River Soča, where you will begin your hike to another peak to enjoy the rugged scenery of the Julian Alps and the hidden secrets of the Soča Valley. There will be opportunities to take part in white water rafting, kayaking or canyoning.

From here you will continue travelling towards the south to visit the historic town of Kobarid, ending the tour amidst the hills of Goriška Brda to enjoy some delicious local food and wine.

We highly recommend taking the optional one-day extension, experience the mysterious underworld of Karst and finish the tour with a relaxed sunset walk on Adriatic coast.
